So why are you supporting McCain, my friends?

So, I'm sitting here, watching the debate (unfortunately without debate cookies), and coming down from a runner's high.  I realized that I never asked the second half of my presidential politics question:   Why are you supporting John McCain in this election?

Devoted readers will know that I am horribly undecided in this campaign, and still can't really make up my mind about who I will vote for this November.  I have a list of things that I like and don't like about each candidate, and right now, they about balance each other out.

As part of my research, I'm asking you, dear reader, to discuss politics with me.   I'm not really interested in why you aren't voting for McCain.  I'm interested in the positive aspects of why you support him.  Do you think his tax credit for health care will work?  Do you think his tax cuts will work to stimulate the economy?  Are his foreign policies the way to improve America's standing in the world?

I still welcome thoughts about Obama in my previous post.  If you support him, feel free to leave me a comment here.  I've enabled anonymous comments for both posts, which you can use if you don't want me to know who you are?

Oh, and if you see Joe the Plumber out there, I'd really like to know who you are voting for, but I'd also like to stop hearing about you.

Amen Brother, in fact I need some enlightening myself. I can't decide who I hate the most. I so far I would only vote for McCain because of Palin. I don't know if it's her ignorance or womanliness that I like the most, but she is the only thing he has going for him, despite everyone else's hatred for her. As far as Obama goes, I just keep flipping, I might be tossing the coin in the election booth to tell you the truth. So educate me, I need more info on both where do I get it?

P.S. I have even gotten so desperate I considered who I would rather listen to for the next four years. Obama won that one, he's a better speaker, and his voice isn't nearly as annoying.

Here are a few reasons:

1. McCain's tax policies are superior. History has shown numerous times that tax cuts actually increase revenues to the government.

2. I favor capitalism over socialism. Socialism dampens economic growth. Giving “tax cuts” to people who pay no taxes will slow GDP growth.

3. McCain’s health care policies are based on capitalistic principles whereas Obama’s are based on government mandates and fines. The numbers in Obama’s policies don’t add up. Obama promises to increase medical coverage (i.e., preexisting condition) while saving the average family thousands of dollars a year.

4. McCain believes in expanding the “economic pie” which benefits all Americans. Obama fundamentally believes that the size of the pie is fixed, and the rich are greedy and taking more than their fair share. McCain understands how to grow the economy based on sound capitalistic principles. McCain wants to offer tax cuts to companies so they will invest more in R&D and create jobs. Obama wants to tax the crap out of companies and then ask with a befuddling look why companies are shipping their jobs overseas.

5. McCain understands the concept of risk and reward. Obama wants to remove much of the rewards capitalism affords (higher taxes), which discourages risks and decreases investment and innovation.

6. I have more confident in McCain’s ability to tackle tough issues. He has a proven record. McCain is more likely to curb Federal spending, which has been out of control during the Bush Administration.

7. McCain appears much less partisan to me.

8. I think unreasonable rulings and opinions from the Supreme Court and other Federal courts usually come from liberal judges. Some recent examples involve issues of child rapists, child pornography, voter identification requirements, terrorists’ rights, and eminent domain.

9. McCain understands foreign policy. I feel he will better defend our freedoms and sovereignty.

I can't with a good conscience vote for either! I'm leaning toward Chuck Baldwin (www.baldwin08.com)

I don't necessarily favor McCain, as I'm very undecided myself. But one thing he did say that was dead-on is that Obama is very eloquent. Obama is a lawyer who knows how to word something so it can be interpreted the way his listeners want to interpret it. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but I fear he has a lot of big ideas with no way to accomplish them.
That being said, I think McCain's health plan is a time-bomb waiting to go off. $5000 doesn't go very far, especially if you need healthcare for an entire family. And who's to say my employer won't drop healthcare coverage now that I get a tax credit to purchase it myself? As someone who would probably be precluded from buying an individual policy due to pre-existing conditions, that really scares me.
